NEXT: Coaching announcements.
I'm sad to announce to those of you who haven't heard yet that I will be turning over the job of head coaching due to an incredible summer opportunity that opened up for me in Atlanta. Abbey Flaherty, who currently runs the FUEL program in St. Bernard and coaches for the Parish school board OWL swim team with me, will be taking over the reins this summer. We're also proud to announce the return of Assistant Coaches Ray Oleking and Emily Mumme and I know that the core of our staff will be very strong this season with a strong emphasis on youth swimming skills and empowerment.
That said, I will still be around for the first 2 weeks to help get the season kicked off, and I will help coach our first intrasquad in May. Coaching for BVNST has been an incredible privilege and an experience that will affect me for the rest of my life. I can't say how proud I am of what the team has accomplished in just one short year, and it all goes back to the dedication and hard work of our terrific athletes and their parents. Thanks to all who have made this important program possible in our community.
LAST NOTE: For those of you searching for OWL Meet #3 results, I'll have those posted as soon as I can get the file from Coach Brett - probably Tuesday.
- Coach Luke
